Neil J. Stewart, PhD

ERS Research Fellow (with University of Sheffield, UK)

Neil is an European Respiratory Society (ERS) Marie Curie Post-doctoral Research Fellow on a joint post with the CPIR and the POLARIS group at the University of Sheffield, UK. He obtained his PhD from the University of Sheffield in 2016 and undertook a postdoctoral fellowship at Hokkaido University, Japan, prior to joining the CPIR. His research focuses on the development and optimization of magnetic resonance imaging methods for hyperpolarized media, in particular 129Xe gas and 13C. At CCHMC, his main research goals relate to assessment of the feasibility of hyperpolarized 129Xe imaging of lung function in infants.
